How Do I Access and Control My Server?

server access VNC SSH RDP getting started

Go2Cloud provides a basic VNC (Virtual Network Computing) console built into the control panel. This console is primarily designed for initial operating system installation, recovery tasks, and situations where your server's network is not yet configured.

For regular day-to-day use, we recommend connecting through your operating system's native remote access tools:

  • For Linux servers, use SSH (Secure Shell) to connect via the command line.
  • For Windows servers, use RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) for a full graphical desktop experience.

These native protocols offer better performance, security, and functionality compared to the VNC console. The VNC console remains available as a fallback whenever you need direct console access regardless of your server's network state.
