What Are Drives and Servers, and How Do I Use Them?

On the Go2Cloud platform, there are two fundamental building blocks:

Drives are persistent storage volumes where your operating system, applications, and data reside. They retain their contents even when your server is powered off. You can create multiple drives and manage them independently.

Servers are virtual machine instances that provide CPU processing power and memory. A server needs at least one drive attached to boot from, but you can attach multiple drives to a single server for additional storage.

This separation gives you considerable flexibility. You can detach a drive from one server and attach it to another, create drives in advance for later use, or maintain separate data and OS drives for easier management and backup.
